With my life as a multiple I can get depressed quickly. Discouragement for me comes when I have come to the realization that I have lost all control due to high stress days, and lately we have had some real doozies.
This is the second full day of Gabrielle being at home from surgery on the 8th of May, 2017. At the moment we are still kinda in the unknown for we really still don’t have all the facts as to what the Doctors has taken out of her belly, all we know is that it was pus that had e-coli in it and other intestinal fluids that appears when either the appendix has ruptured or the intestines itself had ruptured.
So with my wife being in the hospital with Gabby for almost 2 weeks, it has been stressful for us at home as well. This has put a weight on my shoulders like really. So this book i am reading by Charles Swindoll called Living the Psalms:Encouragement for the daily grind, has been wonderful for me.
Currently I am reading on Psalm 5:
Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my groaning.
Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God,
For to You I pray.
In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice;
In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
No evil dwells with You.
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes;
You hate all who do iniquity.
You destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.
But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house,
At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.
O Lord, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes;
Make Your way straight before me.
There is nothing reliable in what they say;
Their inward part is destruction itself.
Their throat is an open grave;
They flatter with their tongue.
Hold them guilty, O God;
By their own devices let them fall!
In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out,
For they are rebellious against You.
But let all who take refuge in You be glad,
Let them ever sing for joy;
And may You shelter them,
That those who love Your name may exult in You.
For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O Lord,
You surround him with favor as with a shield.
Above I have underlined all the attributes that make me assured in Him while I am in my lowest point of life, I am now going to pull those out and list them to be used in prayer, to lift Him up, to praise Him who has already beaten sin and sickness, physical and mental and spiritual.

I am glad and comforted to know that God will hear my voice when in prayer, humbled to my knees and heart broken spirit crushed. I can take comfort that there is no one like God for he doesn’t take pleasure in wickedness, no evil dwells with him, God hates iniquity. In fact God destroys man who speaks falsehoods. God hates the man of bloodshed and deceit.
Thank You LORD God that your lovingkindness is so much that we cannot contain it all and that Your righteousness has been imputed to me, at the cross of Jesus Christ. You are my shelter and my shield that protects me from all unrighteous. Thank You LORD
